Frequently asked questions

Learning Experience Platforms are designed to be used by teachers and students. Teachers can create their own learning experiences, or use the ones that have been created for them. Students will then access these learning experiences through a web browser on any device (desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone). The teacher is able to monitor student progress in real-time as they work through each lesson of the experience.

There are many types of Learning Experience Platforms. Some focus on a specific type of learning, such as e-learning or mLearning (mobile learning). Others provide an integrated solution for all your training needs. The most common platforms include the following:• LMS – A Learning Management System is software that allows you to create and deliver courses online through a website interface. It’s often used in conjunction with other tools like SCORM, which we will discuss later in this chapter. An LMS can be hosted by the vendor or it may be installed on your own server infrastructure; either way, it provides course management features including tracking student progress and reporting capabilities so you know how well students have mastered each topic covered during their training sessions. Many companies use an LMS because they want to control who has access to what content at any given time—for example, if there is sensitive information involved then only certain people should see it until they need access rights based upon job function or security clearance level requirements set up within the system itself (see Figure 1).Figure 1 - Sample screenshot from Blackboard Learn® showing user roles available for different users accessing various areas of functionality within the platform• E

Learning Experience Platforms are designed to help you create a more engaging and effective learning experience for your employees. They can be used in many different ways, including as an online training platform or even as a way of providing feedback on employee performance. The benefits include the following:

Learning Experience Platforms are not a one-size fits all solution. They require significant investment in time and resources to implement, maintain and support. The learning experience platform is only as good as the content that it contains; if you don’t have quality content then your learners will be disappointed with their results.

Any company that wants to improve the performance of their employees and customers.

The best Learning Experience Platforms are highly versatile, easy to use and configure. But most importantly, it should provide seamless integration with other systems.

The Learning Experience Platforms are implemented in a number of ways. Some organizations implement the platform as an enterprise-wide solution, while others choose to deploy it on a departmental level or even at individual school sites. In addition, some schools and districts have chosen to use their existing learning management system (LMS) for this purpose; however, we recommend that you consider using your LMS only if it is already being used by teachers and students within your organization. If not, then implementing the LEAP will require additional training time for both faculty members and administrators who must learn how to navigate through multiple systems when creating courses or managing student data across different platforms.

When you have a large number of learners, and the learning content is not static. You can also use it to create custom courses for specific groups or individuals.
